complexity with more than 1,200 beds and 38 operating rooms, in which its 7,000 professionals provide specialised care to an area of 445,550 inhabitants.
The hospital's annual activity includes 1,000,000 outpatient consultations, 260,000 emergencies, 45,000 admissions and
32,000 surgical interventions. Year after year, this hospital is in the top positions of the best national and international hospitals,

on specific aspects such as quality and safety, patient experience or digital transformation.
Main Research Activities and Core Facilities
A key extension of the hospital is the Complutense University of Madrid and the Hospital's Biomedical Research Institute
(known as "i+12"), training hundreds of future doctors and nurses every year and publishing more than 1,200 scientific articles each year. 67% of the 299 active research projects at the hospital correspond to cancer research in 15 different areas,
with 422 ongoing clinical trials, 114 early drug clinical trials and a total of 906 patients included.
This clinical, teaching and research activity takes place on a modern campus, which combines state-of-the-art
healthcare with the necessary comfort, accessibility and functionality of the facilities.
The complete renovation of the hospital's infrastructure was completed in 2023, incorporating a new Experimental Oncology Centre.
