Presentation of the Centre
Ahus is a leading institution for cancer treatment in Norway, annually treating approximately 3,500 new cancer cases. With a high volume of the most common cancer types, we offer comprehensive and precision-based approaches to cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Our patients are assessed through well-defined cancer patient pathways. Their treatment plans are evaluated by multidisciplinary teams of specialists from various medical fields. Ahus offers surgical treatments, supported by advanced surgical robots and pharmacological treatments bolstered by clinical trials integrated in patient treatment, enabling better patient outcomes.
For specialized cancers such as pediatric cancer, head and neck cancer, liver, bile duct, and pancreatic cancer, we collaborate closely with Oslo University Hospital for diagnostics and treatment. Radiation therapy is also provided through this partnership, ensuring our patients have access to the best available treatments.
Ahus boasts outstanding cancer research groups specializing in radiology, surgery, palliation, and breast, colorectal, and hematological cancers. Our teams conduct basic, translational, and clinical research. We are equipped with core facilities in precision diagnostics, biobanks, and stem cell biology. We take pride in our collaboration with the University of Oslo and Oslo Metropolitan University in educating medical students and specialized nurses.
At Ahus, we integrate advanced technology, multidisciplinary expertise, and innovative research to deliver the highest quality care and treatment to our patients. Together, we strive towards a future where cancer can be combated more effectively and with greater precision.
